Red, White and Blue Remembrance

1,500 flags stood in remembrance of America's veterans on the Healing Field, this Memorial weekend.
Visitors were encouraged to sign their name as a testament to their presence at the Healing Field.

Veterans were beautifully decorated in their uniforms and medals from years of dedicated service.

Many of the flags were tagged in memory and in honor of those who have served or are serving still.

Flags were carefully rolled in preparation for their relocation to a new home.

It was touching to see the pride that each individual held as they carried their flag from the field.

And really, the pride was intoxicating, until you couldn't resist the urge to have one of your own. But flags that size and little girls this size just wouldn't be a good combination.

We were able to find the perfect one for Pippi. And, interestingly, the same level of pride still exists, no matter the size of the flag.

'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Many, many thanks to the men and women who have served this great Country, it is because of you that the flag waves so freely!

And special thanks to the Murfreesboro Noon Exchange Club, whose mission is to work together to make communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities and its National Project, The Prevention of Child Abuse. Job well done!
