Just Dance

Justin Jenkins used to babysit my children. He came highly recommended. Justin was killer competition when it came to Playstation and Wii with Captain Awesome (well, there was this little incident with a busted light panel, but its all good). Often, I would come home to find Pippi snuggled up in his arms ~ fast asleep. They had always been well fed, diapers were always changed ~ I knew that they had been in good hands. Before Justin headed out the door, we would chat a little and he would usually tell me about the dance teams that he was working on. There were all night dance sessions and preparations for the local news crew. Justin was dedicated and passionate about his dance dreams. That is paying off, because now he is with the Southern Movement dance team. And they are competing in MTV's America's Best Dance Crew!

Rock the beat, Justin! We will be cheering you on!

Happy Campers

Captain Awesome and Max wait to hang the hammock ~ which is draped like a towel around his neck. If you are taking a camping trip or just hanging out in the back yard, the Eagle Nest Outfitters' hammock can be extremely entertaining or totally relaxing ~ depending on your preference or perhaps your age. Also, it is very compact and lightweight. The whole hammock stuffs into a bag that is about the size of your hand. This hammock is truly a must-have.

Mother in Nature

If you step outside of the concrete village and travel high up into the mountains, you may just find:

moss covered rocks and trees soaking up the fresh mountain water

daisies sprouting and lifting their heads towards the sunshine in the heavens

ferns springing forth creating a beautiful display without the influence of landscape designs, green thumbs or Miracle-Gro

black bears in search of grubby worms

baby mallard ducks following their mother's lead

love at first sight between a young doe and a young buck

a sleepy millipede navigating its way across the forest floor

your children snuggling in a hammock by the light of a warm campfire

and yourself ~ in nature.

I hope that you get the chance to find yourself in nature. This is a great place to start.

Willie-Nillie Bloomers

Picking fresh flowers from the garden is always a sweet practice. However, beautiful blooms also grow willie-nillie by the roadside. Before meeting their devastating fate from the mower, I brought these in and dropped them into a frappuccino jar ~ turned vase, for a little admiration.

Beauty in the eye of the Brother

Big brothers should be encouraged to spend time with little sisters. It is in those tiny moments that sweet memories are made, which surely must be the basis for eternal bonds. When given enough time, they are required find ways to entertain themselves, thus giving way to creative urges ~ and art is found in their lives ~ allowing them to see the beauty within each other.

Today, Captain Awesome snapped a shot of Pippi hanging from the basketball goal as black clouds rolled in the sky above. This has to be one of his most compelling photographs, yet.
