Earthday I

Yesterday was Sunday, so let's make today Earthday!

Our old incandescent light bulbs are on display, as a reminder for ourselves and a simple message to others, that we have decided to make a small change that will make a big difference.

We have been making the swap from incandescent to compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) light bulbs.

According to Wikipedia.com, a CFL can save over $30 in electricity costs, produce less heat, thus reducing the load on the cooling system, and last between 8 and 15 times longer than an incandescent light bulb.

Please share what are you doing to lighten your footprint on the earth! It can be super simple. A little change means a lot!

Good job, Sweetie. Lets use all the money we save to do something fun :)

What a cool display piece, with meaning!
At our house we recycle virtually everything and compost our garbage... for starters.
Great motivational post, lovely blog!

We use the CFL light bulbs. They last a lot longer too!
